Francesca Flynn’s approach to sculpting is intuitive and spontaneous, expressing a thought or feeling which is often indescribable by words. To quote the artist:

“When I am sitting with a block of clay, I feel a great sense of possibility. My mind becomes clear, yet focused and the work takes on a life of its own. With some sculptures, I have an initial idea and record this as a quick sketch. Others begin immediately in clay. As I sculpt and carve, features begin to emerge. It is incredibly exciting as the form takes shape and the work unfolds like magic.”
